I've found some stuff in the garage I'm putting on the 'bay and Craigslist to add to the pot. I'm counting down the days!
Indoor smoking is prohibited in IL except for designated smoking sleeping rooms that will go early. The good news is The CPCC has a giant enclosed tent right next the Mega Center that has tables, chairs and 2 large settings with very comfortable living room style couches, high back chairs and coffee tables.
That has to be a drag...being at a pipe show looking at pipes and tobacco and not being able to smoke while shopping. Thank goodness for the tent!
I'm kind of glad to have a designated smoking area in this case. I don't know how much I would enjoy being in an enclosed conference room with 100+ people lit up and smoking. Maybe if they were equipped with huge exhaust fans, but I don't think many hotels are set up that way.
I've seen some pictures of previous Chicago shows, and it looks like the smoking tent they have is huge and a pretty cool place to meet up for a smoke, so there should still be plenty of opportunity to enjoy a bowl when wanted.
That's great! I'd love to go and meet everyone, but it is just to far to travel for me. Hope all you guys have a great time and get some great deals. Cheers!
Sounds like a plan! I'm going to drive up on Saturday morning and stay until Sunday night. I'm going to book a room this week. I may come Friday, not sure yet. I'm around 110 miles from St.Charles.
Pheasant Run is about a 30 minute drive for me, so I'm sure I will be at the show this year. I hope to make it on Friday for sure, perhaps mid afternoon Saturday, and again Sunday if it's that awesome. We'll need to devise a plan for recognizing fellow PSFers at the show. Something simple like those adhesive name tags marked simply "PSF" maybe?
Wh wen it gets a little closer to the date... If you don't mind... maybe you can give me directions in from I-294 south.. coming in from Milwaukee.. route with no low by-docks, overpasses, bridges, etc: and if not.. I'll jus call Garden Inn....
That sounds good, and maybe a preset meet time at the big tent or something. I'd even IM my cell phone to those that say they are coming, closer to the date.
Yep, also willing to share phone numbers. Maybe the week prior to the event we do a mass PM or email exchange with all planning to attend. Looking forward to it.
Ehhh....I have rejoined the ranks of the working class once again. I start this week working Thursday-Sunday nights. I'm not 100% sure I can make it now, but I'm going to try....
If gas hits $4 a gallon, it may curb a lot of plans. Maybe a PSF corner with a sign in volunteer(s) of whos who. Don't know how to do it but if I can make it, I would like to meet you guys.
