Archer and I have just recently taken the plunge into this forbidden and heavily poo-poo'ed OTC tobacco. We both (secretly) agree that it was not that bad. We are looking to hear from either other closet M79 smokers who may be afraid to come out and\or future M79 smokers scared to take the plunge. Maybe we can have a support group or our own section in the Forum! lol (Just kidding Woody and mods!) We also have a new slogan.... Never had M79, and probably never will. Just have too many other tobies that I like just fine. So, good luck with the campaign!

Not that bad compared to what? Having wisdom teeth pulled? Just kiddin'. There are many blends that are worse but it ghosts pipes too badly and I'm not willing to dedicate a pipe to it.
I have to admit...a pouch of M79 is in my future...hearing all the horror stories makes it a must try...and yes I was the kid that stuck his tongue to frozen metal when everyone said not to...
They'd likely have switched their advice had they known you were going to try M79. You did yourself a favor.
The wonderful reviews I've read here have made me not open the little white pouch of 79 I was given. Once my tongue heals a little I'll need to give it a try just to say that I did. Right of passage???
I agree, I have heard so many negative comments about this baccy that it makes me want to try it to see if it as bad as I have heard. I've always been a bit of a contrarian, I guess this is proof.

Nope. I gotta admit to having become a bit jaded. During the past year I've ordered all sorts of tinned tobacco thru e-tailers that were previously unavailable to me at my local B&M. I still like a few of the OTCs and I'll get some CH & Middleton's Cherry but I can't go back to Borkum Riff or #79

However , if ... by some unholy chance you continue down this path of self degradation ..... I have a tin of Spinaker for the both of ya's . You think 79 is on the dark side . It's on the darkside for girlscouts compared to spinaker .You guys just let me know how it goes chasing that little dragon . I've got the Grandad of dragons if ya want to meet him .
