Good glue for meerschaum?

I have a nice claw and egg meerschaum I bought used several years ago. It was repaired before I bought it and whoever did it really did a great job. I noticed the mend when the adhesive broke free. The pipe has developed some nice coloring and is one of my favorites. The break is on the shank but will hold if I go back with an adhesive that's heat and meerschaum friendly.

    Q. Anybody recomened a glue to try?

Curious myself, OBD, I searched around. Apparently one piece of finely ground(powdered) chalk, mixed with a tbsp. of egg white will work. How well? I have no clue, and I am knocking on wood just in case.

    Good luck, whatever you decide.:)

I've repaired a couple of older beater pipes with 2 stage epoxy, but was not happy with the results. Also heard about the egg white/chalk mix, but have never attempted it.

I repaired an old meer with a break at the shank using Gorilla glue. Been smoking it every since and it has held fine.
