    NOT FOR SALE

This has a crack in the shank where I chunked it across the room buffing...so its now my new baby! Smokes like a champ, goes straight through with an air cleaner and stays going with minimal puffs! Just wanted to show off MY new toy...lol...

My first attempt at this shape.

    The OoS 512 Bulldog

    NOT FOR SALE

Nice. My feble attempts at a bulldog end up looking more like bull s***! I'm ashamed to GIVE them away......<sigh>

HAHAHA! I think it looks like it should everywhere but the top...it needs more rake on the angle and sharper definition on top...other than that..thats why its my new shop pipe!

T, some folks aren't meant to be confined to "shapes"...and you know what I mean!!

Sadly a different one it will be! The shank cracked on this one! (water storage structure) buffer launched her across the shop!

How did you get the diamond shaped shank because that always stumped me?
  16. smokindawg Active Member

Looks pretty good for a first try at the shape............ The diamond shank is probably the hardest to do correctly, at least for many makers. I've even talked to a couple better known carvers that won't even attempt it. So far, I'm one of those people. (And I don't mean I'm a well known carver!)

Keep at it Archer as I look forward to seeing your next attempt.

Wow, in spite of a little bit of an incident, it looks like you've come up with another fine looking pipe! Excellent. :puffy:

I made a straight line for each point on the diamond and sanded to it, using the diamond shaped stem as the guide for surface leveling...

Oh yeah, lots of elbow grease with a flat file and hours of carpal tunnel like symptoms afterward...
