Yello-Bole Help Needed

    I have an Yello-Bole briar estate pipe. When I get an estate pipe I take a whiff to be sure it was used for tobacco. And this one was and this had some baccy residue at the bottom of the bowl. As I was cleaning I uncovered a domed shape circular disc with 4 small holes at the bottom of the bowl.
    Anyone know if Yello-Bole did this or is this some kind of owner modification?

    After some careful digging I got the screen out with no damage. Issue is over and it is now a nice pipe.
